General rule of thumb is that if you want a stable system - wait for the third set of fixes before upgrading unless you need a feature and you do not mind an exciting life.
I have owned more Macs that I can count, going back the the "fat Mac" 512k in 1985. I have never upgraded anything on the first day. Guess it depends on how much you depend on your Mac and how much you enjoy being a beta tester. :)

At least the OS X folks know what Regression Testing is all about and spend a little effort (money) to make sure they don't kill half of the functions they delivered previously.
A lot more than I can say for the Garmin GPS Software Engineering teams unfortunately. :( Notice that I didn't include BaseCamp Dev in that unsolicited remark. :)

I'm surprised to hear you say that. Surely you remember the problem with GAA when Snow Leopard came out?
The biggest issue with "old" apps under Lion appears to be that 10.7 will no longer support Rosetta. BC should not be affected by that, so one big hurdle out of the way.
Using the developer seeds, all of our applications work, but we are retesting using the new seed that came out Monday. There is a minor UI glitch in BaseCamp that will be fixed in the release that should be out by Day 1.
