Beta Q's: Routing, Printing

These issues are on 3.2.0.7, on a MacBookPro running OS X 10.6.7.

1. I know that there is a known issue in automotive routing, so this may be that, but I just created an automotive route by connecting several waypoints that went on the order of a thousand miles out of the way (for two points on the same road that are about a mile apart). (To be specific, it went from Sequoia National Park to Los Angeles and back to Sequoia National Park.)
Does this sound like the 'known issue'?

2. By accident I hit "Print" on a route, which brought up the print dialog, and then I couldn't do anything other than print - cancel, preview, etc. didn't do anything (and I didn't want to actually print anything). Eventually I quit BaseCamp and that sent it away but that still seems a bit much.

Yep it a known issue, seems to kick in on automative routes approximately over 200 miles. If you need to use automative routing you might want to wait for the next beta or release.

The red close window button in the upper right corner of the of the print dialog put the window away me.
  • Re: Automotive routing issues over 200 miles

This route was something like 12 miles -- hence my question if it's still the same bug.

I would have clicked that if I had one. Trust me, I looked.

I said right but should have said upper left window. I used the standard mac - red, yellow, greed - red close button. I did not have a cancel button showing but the standard mac close button put the window away.

Azdrmn said long routes but I bet it is the same issue. I did not notice the problem on short routes but I did not check the routes close. It is sort of a show stopper for me but I figured there would be a fix soon so I have not reverted back to the standard release.

From the description, I think both of those are known issues. The routing issue seems to intermittently show up on any length map. We did fix an issue having to do with the print dialog, so I'm assuming it is related to what you saw.
