Searching for cities named San...

I just recently updated BaseCamp and now I cannot find San Francisco, CA or San Antonio, TX. BaseCamp only suggests cities in Mexico. It's not all San cities though...San Marcos, TX works correctly. Has anybody found a solution, other than just using nearby towns/suburbs? Thanks!
  • I think you found a bug. I am getting the same issue with city navigator North america NT 2011.3

This may happen with specific maps. I have difficulty reproducing on the maps installed on my machine. Is there any pattern to what maps this search fails on?

It may help to add ",CA" after the city name to limit the scope of the search to a specific state.
  • I am searching the near field. I am not sure how BaseCamp decides when to show a list of possible cities but when it works it is after 2 or more characters are typed. After one character is typed you get a triangle for a drop down but this is only a particle list. If I type San Francisco, CA and looking at the city on the map it fails with City Navigator NT 2011.3.

If I type sandy and hit space bar trying to find sandy, UT, Sandy UT does not show in the pop up. If I hit search BC says no results found. If I click the triangle Sandy UT is first in the list. If I type sandy, it shows in the pop down list. New Albany MS works as it should.

If I change from city navigator 2011.3 to US topo 100k. the I get a message about not supporting address search but typing san fran - San Francisco, CA pops up as it should. I would think it would have to be something in 2011.3 data bases.

If I specify a state (i.e. San Antonio, TX), then BaseCamp says no results found... I have older maps installed and I can find San Antonio and San Francisco in my 2009 map. The odd thing is that once it's found in 2009, I can find them in the 2010 maps too. My 2011.2 map however will find neither and once I've searched using the 2011.2 map, none of the 2010 maps will work until I go back to 2009 and search there.
