BaseCamp unable to geotag DNG files

Hello everyone.

I have recently bought a Garmin Oregon 450 and have been able to successfully use it in navigation.

I am using BaseCamp verision 3.1.2 on my MacBook Pro.
However, I face a problem.
I have taken series of photos that I have downloaded into folders on the MacBook Pro laptop.
I click on the respective tracks and did a Match and Geotagging.
BaseCamp inidcated successful matching of X number of photos.
But when I reviewed these photos, I was surprised to find that they do not contain any GPS information on their EXIF.

What I have come to realise is that, if the pictures were in jpeg format, geotagging would be successful, but not when they were in DNG (Adobe RAW) format.

I would really appreciate any advice from all of you out there.

    BaseCamp currently only supports geotagging of jpeg photos. It does sound like there is a problem if it was incorrectly specifying successful geotags of your DNG files.

    Thank you very much for coming on board and helping me out in this issue that I am facing.
    I am grateful for that information, for at least now I know that it is not something that I have done incorrectly.
    But strangely indeed, yes BaseCamp does indicate successful geotagging of the DNG files after matching.
    I can't understand why...
    But it is quite ok.
    May I ask if there is any software that does work together with BaseCamp or on its own, that can geotag DNG files with the GPS info from Garmin Oregon?

    GPSPhotoLinker is a Mac program I have used for JPG and Canon RAW (CR2) files, quite successfully. It's pretty easy to use and since it uses the open-source ExifTool EXIF tagging library, it very likely will work with DNG files as well.

    GPSPhotoLinker is free but there's a paid version as well with more whizzy features.
