I'm a bit new in the whole gps 'thing', so excuses me if this question is a bit silly. I bought an egde 800 with preprogrammed City navigator Europe map. I played a bit with basecamp and saw that basecamp reads the CN map directly from the sd card. I find working with these maps a bit slow, so I thought that if i'd be able to copy the whole map (gmapsupp.img) to the directory where the basecamp base card is located (Garmin Basecamp / contents / resources), i should be able to open the CN map. I did this, but I cannot see the CN maps anywhere in Basecamp. My questions:
Does it makes sense to copy the CN map on the hard disk of my Mac; is it really faster to work with comparing to read the map from the SD card?
What am I doing wrong? Why can't Basecamp read my copied CN map? Should I rename the gmapsupp.img file or should I copy more files to the Basecamp folder?
