Environment:
OS: OS X 10.6.5
Basecamp: 3.1.2
Device: Oregon 450.
Maps: Garmin North West 24k and the default Global Map
Basecamp Position Format: UTM
Basecamp Datum: WGS84 or NAD27
Description:
Basecamp incorrectly interprets UTM coordinates in the Locate Dialog and incorrectly locates a position on the surface of the Earth. Specifically Basecamp finds a location in Latitude band N and zone 9. When the coordinate specifies zone 10 latitude band T.
Reproducable Steps:
1. Press command L or select "Find" > "Locate coordinates"
2. Enter "10 T 664 5260" in the Enter Coordinates text field without the quotes.
3. Click the "Show on Map" button.
Issue:
Basecamp converts the UTM coordinates, displays...
"Converted to: 9 N 668854 5246"
…and takes you to a location in the South Pacific. Latitude Band N.
Additionally, if you click "Create Waypoint At…", in the Locate dialog, a new dialog appears with the incorrectly converted coordinate. Changing the coordinate to the desired coordinate in the advanced tab and clicking the "Show on map" button results in moving the waypoint flag to an incorrect position on the map, but displaying the correct coordinate in the dialog.
