Basecamp crashes when I transfer to Edge 800

I'm a new Edge 800 owner but a longtime Garmin hardware and software user.
Just got the new Edge 800.

When I create a route (using route tool) in Basecamp (3.1.2) and 'send to GPS' by any means (menu bar, tool bar, or right click), Basecamp crashes.

I'm using the CityNav maps that came with the Edge 800 bundle - 2011.2

I'm running Mac OS X 10.6.5 on a MacPro.

Any ideas or suggestions?
Anyone else seeing this behavior?

It's a bug of BC 3.1.2...

... so i restored Basecamp 3.1.1 from Time Machine, sending courses to the internal memory of the Edge 800 works again.

I was able to recreate the crash by transferring data to the Edge 800. It will be fixed in a future version, but in the meantime, you'll need to restore 3.1.1 if you want to transfer data to the 800.

I have 3.1.3 and I have the same issue.

BaseCamp 3.1.4 available on the App Store fixes this issue.

Is that the new distribution form of Garmin Software?
Why is the update not available through the official Garmin-WebSite?
Why is there still the old version 3.1.2, which does not work with the Edge 800?

As I said in this thread a web version will be posted as soon as the installer for it is complete and tested. In the meantime, the App Store version is identical except being sans autoupdate.
