Auto vs. Direct Routing

I laid out a route, with Auto Routing selected in Preferences. BaseCamp would only use Direct Routing. How do I get it to use Auto Routing?

What maps are you trying to route on? Auto-routing only works on some map products.

That one should work fine if Auto-Routing is the set preference. If I understand your problem then, you're getting a line between via/waypoints instead of the route following the road? Is City Nav selected in the map menu? The included "Global" map will not Auto-route. Sorry, that's all I've got. :)

Can you post a screen shot of the route in 2D? That may help determine what the problem is.
