As many of you noticed, there was an issue with our provider of satellite imagery over the weekend, causing all downloads to fail. That issue has been resolved and BirdsEye downloads should be working again. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I think this should be an eye opener for Garmin. This is no longer a product that sleeps on weekends, and when it comes to technology and downstream providers, that was 3 days of very bad press for Garmin in a realm of features that makes Garmin a market leader.
The acknowledgement of the problem on Friday or Saturday in the wee hours would have at least quelled concern for 48 hours.
This is where twitter and facebook updates could have relieved much ill will.
