More than 50 waypoints to a 60csx?

If you are using that many Waypoints I'm guessing you are trying to create a route on dirt roads and trails that are not routable using the automatic Routing feature.

Try creating a track instead. Tracks are better for dirt roads and trails that are not normally routable using the Routes feature. A track with up to 500 points can be exported to the 60CSx.

You can also convert a Track into a Route from within BaseCamp and when you do BaseCamp will automatically restrict the number of waypoints to 50 or less even if you used 500 points to create the track.

I know this feed is old, but....... i have a 60csx and would consider moving to a GPSMAP 64st if the minimum route points is more than 50. Is this the case or is this latest model still have the same limitations of 50 waypoints per route

According to this FAQ the limit is still 50 for "follow road" routes.

The big advantage of the 62/64 is that you can remove shaping points from the route during transfer to the 62/64 with baseCamp and with that routes can be much longer.

Only be sure to switch of recalculation when you go off the route. And together with the route you can show a track on the map (only show).

But probably your biggest advantage is the speed of the 64, the amount of routes (200) and the amount of tracks (200) and length of tracks (10.000).
