I have been using mapsource on the PC for years with great success. I am new to Macs. I am using the latest version of bascamp with an edge 705. I have generated a number of routes in basecamp, along with the waypoints for each. I have created a separate smart "route" folder to show only the routes, since the "My collections" shows everything. When I attempt to transfer a single (or any number of) route to the GPS it always sends everything stored in My collections, even if I have a single route highlighted. (This is generally a huge file that causes my edge 705 to crash.) This seems to work fine in Road Trip but not basecamp.... am I doing something wrong or is it a softwear glitch? I want to be able to store dozens of routes in basecamp but only transfer 1 or 2 to my GPS at a time. Thanks.
Two ways to do that, the easiest of which is just to drag the route(s) to your GPS in the device pane. The second is to right (Ctrl) click on the selected data and choose Send to GPS...
You're a life saver azdrmn! Dragging to the GPS device in the device pane worked perfectly. Beats me why the "send to GPS" button doesn't work. Thanks again!
The "Send To GPS" button generally brings up a dialog that has several checkboxes on it. If you don't check "Send Routes", then it won't do so. Otherwise, that should work just fine for sending routes, tracks, etc.
