Can BaseCamp generate routes?

I am brand new to BaseCamp, but I have been using Garmin GPS receivers for many years. I would like to generate a route along a trail and send it to my GPSmap 60CSx. Doesn't seem like a lot to ask.

I created a new route in BaseCamp by setting a waypoint at the trailhead and another at the opposite end of the trail and dragging them into the route properties box. BaseCamp then created onscreen a lovely path tracing faithfully along the trail, just as I'd hoped, but when I tried to send the route to my GPS it sent only the two endpoints. Surely I'm missing something simple here - BaseCamp has obviously done all the hard work needed to create a route, so it is absurd that it would refuse to share that information.

Nuvi 780:

I have Topo Canada V4 and have move sections of southern BC to my Nuvi 780 via Mapinstall.

What I can't seem to do is move the highlighted (in purple) routes that I make in Basecamp to my Nuvi.

Ideally, I have been trying to move a copy with the highlighted routes on to the SD card to so I could switch between the two Topo maps, one on the Nuvi itself and the with the highlighted maps on the SD card.

Addition to the above POst.

I have been able to drag the Route to the GPS but it only shows up on the City Navigator Map.

The routes I am build are for off roading along logging roads which the Topo map details.

I don't know if it's possible with your Nuvi, but with some units you can turn the City Nav maps off so they don't appear, leaving the Topo maps with the routes.

autoroutes

If I select a start point, then try to select the waypoints, the Basecamp auto builds the route with other alternate routes instead of letting me continue to select the waypoints I want to use.
