BaseCamp/MacBook Pro Connection problem

I keep receiving the attached message when trying to connect my nuvi 855 to BaseCamp on my Mac. I have tried resetting both the Mac and BaseCamp. This does not happen every time but usually before I have finished using the BaseCamp application. My BaseCamp version is the Version 3.0.1.0 Release. I have tried to find any updates that are needed but have not had any success. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. This is my first nuvi having come from an old StreetPilot III.

    If you could view your console, it may have logged messages about invalid GPX files, with specific file and line numbers, in it. Posting the corrupted GPX file could help us narrow down the cause of this issue.

    How does your nuvi work in the application? Is it displayed underneath "My Garmin Devices" in the app? Does sent data show up on your device correctly/are you receiving all the data you expect to?
