BaseCamp crashes on start

Hi,

I have just installed BaseCamp on my Mac (OS X 10.6.3), and it crashes directly on startup. Re-installing did not help. I installed OSM maps only on the device, which seems to work just fine when using the device itself.

The crash report file is attached here, in case it helps anyone ... . I can't read it :) .

This may be a known problem.
The attached file is just a link to the actual crash report on your machine. I've sent to an e-mail message to ask for the actual crash. If possible, it is better just to let the error reporter run and send in the crash (this might happen on the next run.) We get a lot of useful information from these.

Garmin does not provide support for maps from unlicensed sources.

A common problem with the OSM maps in BaseCamp is a corrupted map image directory causing the application to crash. Another common problem is a failure to route correctly.

You should rule out the map as the cause of your crash by temporarily removing it from the device while connected to BaseCamp. (Or temporarily rename the map to something without a .img suffix while the device is connected.)

stupid me, should've seen this. just sent you the email with the crash dumps I have. (hopefully now they're the right ones :)

I tried to disable the map, btw - renamed the garmin folder on the chip, no change.

I have the same problem on Windows XP.

I downloaded the update a few weeks ago and basecamp wouldnt run it.
Now Basecamp won't open at all even after re-installing.

Same problem here, crashes immediately and fails to even open.

I am on 10.6.3 with all current updates.

Recently I added maps with MapInstall after buying a lifetime update.

If you have had a problem with OSM maps which have previously been read from the device, you may also need to remove your

~/Library/Caches/com.garmin.BaseCamp/CardProductCache directory.

Anything in the cache directory may be safely removed while BaseCamp is not running without affecting the functionality of BaseCamp.

No success by removing the cache folder on my machine unfortunately.
