Basecamp 3.0.1 crashing on export "My Collection"

Using Basecamp 2, I would regularly export "My Collection" in order to backup my entire basecamp database. However, in Basecamp 3.0.1, when I select "My Collection" and hit export (command-s), I get locked into the spinning-beach-ball cursor and have to force-quit Basecamp. I have 982 waypoints and 214 tracks. I made a smart list of just the waypoints, and this exported alright. However, a smart-list of just the tracks did not export. So, I'm concluding that there is something wrong with my tracks. I tried exporting each track individually, but they all worked just fine.
Let me know if you can help, since I would really like to be able to use this method to back up my basecamp info.

How long do you wait before force quitting? It might take a while depending on how big your 214 tracks are.

I gave it 15 minutes. It was less than 5 seconds in basecamp 2.

backup using time machine instead?

So, I gave it overnight and it still doesn't export.

I use time machine to regularly back up everything on my laptop. Would it be possible to use this to backup my basecamp data? Can you tell me which file or directory I'd want to restore in order to restore my basecamp data in case anything happens in the future?

The BaseCamp data files are stored at ~/Library/Application Support/Garmin/BaseCamp.

FWIW I just tried it and it worked. I only have about 20 routes, 10 tracks and 100 or so WPoints. Took about 15 sec.
