This is highly repeatable, each time I send certain routes to the Oregon then Basecamp crashes. I use the crash reporter and have been doing for about 6 months but there's no sign that works either, I've never received any sort of acknowledgment, in fact it looks no more than a scam to give the user an impression their problem might be looked at. I tried to report this to the support team but they just told me:
a) they weren't aware of any stability issues with BaseCamp
b) I should use Mapsource instead as it is more stable, that might be true but I have a Mac so it's not very helpful
Had I not read the forum I'd not have known that the other stability issue, acrash when changing symbols, not only was well known but was addressed in the beta basecamp.
This only happens on my 550t, I can send the same route to a Forerunner 305 and it's perfectly fine.
As far as I can tell, the only thing that distinguishes routes which crash is that they are circular. Any sort of routing, direct/auto etc doesn't make any difference but if I create a new end waypoint a couple of metres from the start point it seems to work. It's taken me 6 months to notice this unfortunately :confused:
While this is a workaround I really expect circular routes to work.
