Minor questions

Hello All,
I have just downloaded BC and it definitely seems faster and an improvement over RT. I have read when sending routes to my Zumo 550 I should first send them to RT and from RT to the Zumo. Is that still recommended to avoid corrupting routes?

Also when you double click on a route and the dialogue box pops up; under directions can you eliminate some of the columns, for example, heading? The slider only allows a certain amount of narrowing the column, was wondering if there is a method to eliminate, or hide, the column completely? Thanks

Try it and find out. then report back.

I've never received any response from Garmin if they can confirm they see the same bug I see or not. They confirmed that they received my file, but no further communication from them.

I am on a PPC G4 mac, maybe it works with an Intel machine??

You can change the width of the columns, like in a spreadsheet, but they have a minimum width.
You can change the order of the columns option - drag...
So you could move the uninteresting ones to the right side, then shrink the width of the window so they are not visible.

I'm not sure what transferring using RoadTrip first would accomplish. In fact, if you are using Snow Leopard, you should be using BaseCamp 2.1.1 beta. We are releasing a RoadTrip version that addresses the Snow Leopard problem, but until it gets posted on the web, you should use the BaseCamp beta.

I posted about a bug I found in BaseCamp here:

    and Here:

And the only work around I found is to send the route from RoadTrip to the Zumo. Still awaiting some communication from Garmin other than an acknowledgment that my message was received.

I believe that is what the OP was referring to.
  • Thanks for the replies, have tidied up the directions window. I am using Snow Leopard and I was referring to some routes being corrupted when sent from Base Camp to the Zumo (but not when those same routes were sent from RT) by previous posters. Reading some of the previous posts I wasn't sure how often it happened so since I haven't had issues with corruption of routes from RT I don't mind sending my BC routes to RT until the bug is fixed. If I am wrong about this bug please let me know so I don't have that extra step.
