Feature Request, Longshot

I've been spending a lot of time with BaseCamp recently, planning a very complicated holiday. Playing around with the program I stumbled across the split screen display for 2D/3D maps. If BaseCamp can do this, why not a split screen with independent views of the same mapset? It would be handy to have a close in zoom of a city map containing numerous lodging options and routing problems in one pane and a general area map showing existing routes and waypoints in the other. All that would have to be independent would be the zoom level, routes etc. could be linked between the two. This would make comparing routing options easy. Better yet would be a hot key to automatically zoom the selected area in pane one to pane two to facilitate editing of via points in that area. Wistful thinking? :)
