How to solve 'Valid Chart Product Not Found' after USB disconnect from Garmin Watch?

The error Valid Chart Product Not Found shows up in BaseCamp for some maps that are on my Enduro2. Reason was an inadvertent disconnect of the USB connection to the watch while the maps were in the process of syncing.

How can the sync process between watch and BaseCamp be re-activated, to make the corrupted maps available again in BaseCamp ?

I believe it has to do with clearing the local cache - but how / where?

  • That is not the location of the cache, it is the location of the database that shouldn't be deleted! Moreover, it is the location on Windows PCs, so it isn't very helpful for Mac users...

The correct location depends on where you downloaded BaseCamp, from the app store or from the Garmin website.

    /Users/{username}/Library/Containers/com.garmin.BaseCamp/Data/library/Caches/com.garmin.BaseCamp

    or

    /Users/{username}/Library/Caches/com.garmin.BaseCamp

  • From my own experience, the easiest way to fix this is usually to reset BaseCamp’s local cache so it “forgets” the corrupted sync attempt. On Windows, the cache is typically somewhere in your user folder under AppData\Roaming\Garmin\BaseCamp—you can try renaming or moving that folder to force BaseCamp to rebuild it. On Mac, it’s under ~/Library/Application Support/Garmin/BaseCamp/. After that, reconnect your Enduro2 and start a fresh sync; BaseCamp should recognize the maps correctly this time. I’d also make sure the USB stays connected until the sync fully completes, otherwise it’ll just recreate the same issue.
