Hi,

I just purchase my Oregon 300 and have installed the topo 24k maps for western US. Everything I have tried so far has worked except that none of my saved tracks or routes on the 300 are getting read into BaseCamp.

All the documentation says that I should be able to send and receive both. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

tks, louie

Do you also have the same problem with the release version of BaseCamp v2.0.1 available here?

  • What happens if you drag a track from BaseCamp to your 300 mounted in your basecamp window?
  • I think the master reset fixed your unit. I know the 300 which I have ordered is quite different from my nuvi 750 but garmin is doing strange stuff with uploads. For example if I upload a route to the nuvi, I think it goes to the gpx folder as a file, to use the route you have to go to mydata on the nuvi, upload the file to part of a larger binary file that makes the route available for use under where to - routes. The only way to get rid of the uploaded routes in the gpx folder is to drag them to the trash on your computer. I been told by tech support you have to empty the trash. Even if you empty the trash, I have to do it two or three times as the nuvi puts the files back. Bottom line, the issue is not really a problem, it just bothers me that I can't figure out what Garmin is doing with the route files. Master reset does not remove user data on my nuvi.

The support page says the only way to delete geocache files form the oregon 300 is drag them to the trash on you computer. It will be interesting to see if BaseCamp will be able to delete Geocaches.
