I successfully converted all my maps from PC to MAC. Then opened a set of maps done in Mapsource, when changing waypoints all I get is straight lines for the route it will not recalculate now?
2.1.1 beta has many fixes and some great additional features. https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?t=4000 The preference file allows you to select direct or Auto routing. Direct is a straight line route. Straight line routes are useful with topo maps. In addition after you import routes from a gpx file, they will be straight lines until they are double clicked and put away. To assist with route changes of moving waypoints within the route, deleting waypoints (via), BaseCamp has a manual recalculate route and usually does not recalculate the route until the route is put away.
I agree with you that google probable had nothing to do with the routes being recalculated. The update was probable what fixed the issue. Prior to 2.1.1 beta, BaseCamp would only display topo maps. I assume Topo US 2008 does not have routing information stored on the map data because Topo 2008 US will only do direct routing. If you select city navigator as a map and get an Auto route, topo 2080 US will show auto routes.
All fixed I downloaded google earth with plugins not sure what I did but it fixed the problem,,,,
I'm not sure what that fixed either. I suspect that something more subtle changed at the same time. When it wasn't working, could you create autorouted routes using the route tool or route dialog?
