Hello,

I've just downloaded basecamp in order to prepare my runs (bike).
I've got a Forerunner 405 that is not able to display any maps on its screen but is able to show some indocations like (turns right in 200meters, or go straight,...). I've tried this functionality using a tcx genereated by biketoaster web site (imported in garmin training center then publish to my 405).

neither bascamp nor biketoaster allows me to generate my routes correctly.
I've tried to buy a garmin maps on the website, but I failed: they say I don't have any devices that allows to use such a maps... normal: I only want to use it from basecamp !

Where am'I wrong ???

D.
  • Sorry for the inconvenience. As the 405 is primarily considered a fitness device instead of a navigation device, support for what you are asking is not as "out of the box" as would be nice. See this post for a similar issue. Currently you're best answer may be to use Garmin Training Center (downloaded here) to create a course and send that to your 405. Note that you can import GPX files with tracks from other sources into GTC.

Strange... a 405 seems to be able to give directions ("turn left in 200meters")... and Garmin does not consider such a device as a navigation one ! I want to PAY for such a map ? and it's not possible... so strange...

You might visit www.mapmyrun.com where you may create a course to follow.
