Oregon 550 User Data Sync in Basecamp

I can't get the user data sync between BaseCamp and my Oregon working.
When I connect he Oregon 550 to the Mac and have BaseCamp open, nothing special happens. I can send and receive from and to the GPS using the menu, but I think this is not the user data sync feature? The unit is set to Spanner mode and I choose Mass Storage when connecting to the Mac. Can anyone help me out?

The user data sync feature will be in an upcoming release. Currently, we make transferring user data to the Oregon 550 look like a traditional transfer. That release is in test and hopefully will be available soon.
