I have a new nuvi 500 to which I have applied the NT2010.20 map update. This update has allowed me to route plan with RoadTrip on my Mac. However, even though the update included 880 MB of Topo data, BaseCamp does not see it. Is this because the Topo is non-DEM or because the Topo data is embedded with the North America NT? Is there a way that BaseCamp can be made to use the Topo data?
The answer is because the nuvi 500 is using a non-standard hybrid topo map, the topo part of the data isn't usable by desktop applications like RoadTrip. Sorry for the inconvenience.
