Lots of the time the text in the little balloon that pops up when you hover over things is partially or entirely composed of strange characters. I've attached a screen shot of this behavior.
Korean or some other language on pop-up with the Selector tool
i am running Basecamp on my Mac with snow leopard and have loaded US Topo 24K West for trails. when i use the pointer device, it will show the name of a waypoint, altitude and then there is often a string of characters that look like they are Korean. i saw a post that garmin is aware of this in July 2009, but it is now november and i am wondering if they are still working on it.
I am also looking forward to the release of the new version that implements some of the features/fixes described on this forum.
We are too! :D I understand that it seems like it has taken us too long to fix these Snow Leopard issues, and I don't disagree. However, we were in the middle of a major release when these issues were discovered and we decided to roll those changes in as part of that release, instead of spending the time and effort to release a Snow Leopard fix release. Honestly this update has taken us longer to release then we had planned due to reasons both in and out of our control. I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused users and appreciate the patience.
