Garmin Explore doesn't export elevation

1) I have created a track on basecamp with elevation point read on the map

2) I export it from basecamp in a folder

3) with garmin Explore I import this track.

4) this track with synchronisation is on my GPSMAP 67 without elevation

Have you a solution??

  • Did a quick test on this myself, and indeed it looks like the elevation of the waypoints in the GPX track file is stripped when importing in Explore.

I think the GPSMAP 67 will show the elevation profile of a track you navigate if an active map has elevation data, so in you could still see elevation data even though it's not present in the track itself.

If you want full control over the data in GPX files, I recommend transferring them to the GPSMAP 67 by connecting the unit to a computer and copying the file to the Garmin\GPX folder on the internal storage.

  • thanks a lot, it seem Garmin Explore need some improvement
