I used to be able to get Garmin Basecamp and Garmin Express to run on my M1 Max Macbook Pro but the latest MacOS Sonoma updates (I assume) have stopped all that. Neither application works at all now and I have to kill both with a Force Quit. It makes no difference whether I do a clean restart or not. Neither application ever works now.
Why on earth do Garmin not recompile these for Universal silicon like every other App developer!
I note that both applications still work perfectly on a PC.
This has rendered my GPSmap66i effectively useless with the Mac. The only interaction I have now is with my iPhone and the latest recent updates to Garmin Connect version 5 on IOS have almost killed that option as well.
Garmin's inability to provide working support software for their GPS and Watch products on Macs will certainly prevent me upgrading my existing devices to another Garmin one.
