transfer routes from apple macbook to windows laptop

Since I have got the new apple macbook pro with the apple M1 pro processor I cannot connect my sat nav to my new laptop for express and basecamp. I have requested help from garmin and am waiting a reply.

However to tide me over I bought a cheap windows laptop which will allow me to connect to both apps. However I have tried to do backup to a pen drive from my apple laptop in basecamp and restore in the windows laptop to move my routes over.

Although the windows recognises the pen drive with the backup that I downloaded onto it from basecamp nothing gets "restored" in the other windows based laptop.

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong, thanks Graham

I don't believe a Mac backup will load in Windows. What you can do is export your data as a .gpx file and then import that in BaseCamp in Windows.

You don't mention what model of Sat Nav - if its the XT then this may help. You have to disable Garmin express running in the background before trying to connect to Basecamp - as the XT is Android based, you can only connect to either Express or Basecamp individually. I use a Mac M1 computer without issues other than the above.
