Time to update Garmin Basecamp for macOS

I can’t remember the last time I received an update to Garmin Basecamp for macOS, it’s been so long ago.

There are two issues that need addressing urgently:

Scrolling the map in 2D view is very slow and juddery, in 3D view it’s okay but for long trips 2D is more intuitive. This is a frequent complain in many forums but Garmin haven't addressed this issue.
It’s been a year since Apple released the M1 chip, can we PLEASE have a version for the M1 chip that takes advantage of this new technology?

Technology is moving on but Garmin Basecamp seems stuck in the past.

BaseCamp development ended a while back when Garmin disbanded the BaseCamp team. Whether there will be further essential updates going forward I don't know but it may be that it's being allowed to die.

Thank you for the reply, this is bad news, I had no idea the development team had been disbanded. I’ll have to take a closer look at TomTom for my next motorbike satnav unless you can suggest an alternative route planner that can work with Garmin maps.

Well the Windows version still does so I haven't looked at alternatives. However as you have a motorbike I suggest you join www.zumouserforums.co.uk/ as there are folks there who use various route planning tools.
