ZUMO XT / MAC 11.0 / BASECAMP CRASHES

I have a Garmin Zumo XT and every time I connect to Mac 11.0 Basecamp crashes. Installed Garmin Express and it sees device but basecamp won't. Uninstalled Garmin Express and same result. Am using Basecamp version 4.8.11 and Zumo XT software is up to date. Pretty expensive device to throw in the lake but I'm about there. Please help

Ensure Express and BaseCamp aren't running simultaneously

Thanks, I read all the forums I could find on this and from what I understand, only 1 program can access the GPS at a time. I also tried deleting all of my POI files using Garmins POI loader. Many restarts and still no luck. Any other ideas I'm obviously missing something? Thank you!

Remove the cyclop samples from the xt. Sometimes they give problems in Basecamp.

I was able to "disable" the Cyclops POI but not remove. I finally connected to my new work PC and was able to use but still not get the map detail necessary for planning my routes. Do I have to buy the maps for Basecamp when I already own on ZUMO XT? Thank you all for your help.

Use Android file transfer for removing. And when xt connected to your mac, use Garmin express to install maps on the mac.
