BaseCamp search not working in MacOS Big Sur

Using MacOS BigSur with BaseCamp v4.8.11 doesn't respond to a search query. The panel that then appears having typed in a place name also does not respond to any clicks of the check boxes ie. points of interest, addresses etc. Any ideas?

Can confirm this issue on macOS 11.4 and BC 4.8.11. Clicking on "Options" does work, however, and the panel that then appears is fully functional (as long as one masters the rather idiosyncratic Garmin search process…)

Sometimes It will also even hang for reading/ scrolling, it will be hung when searching words.
