Garmin Fenix 6x plus and Mac OS 10.11.6. El Capitan

Hello guys,

I just got me a Fenix 6x Plus. Everything works fine so far. Managed to drag some maps via Android file transfer to my watch. But now I want to install the maps on the computer in order to get a better performance in basecamp. I already downloaded Garmin express to install the maps. But when I click on the Maps option, to install the maps to the computer, nothing happens.

Do you have any idea on how to solve this?

Which maps? Express can only install certain maps to your Mac for BaseCamp to use.

The maps which are by default on my device. Gramin TopoActive Europe for example

Well until they are updated they won't appear in Express

Hi!
I updated them and they appear in express. The problem is, I would like to save them on the computer to be used in basecamp without having the device connected. Because at the moment basecamp opens them only directly from the device, which causes viewing the map to be quiete a paine.

If they appear in Express but there is no option to install them to your Mac please read this and look at creating a virtual drive www.javawa.nl/virtualdevice.html

I managed to create a virtual file but I can't download the JaVaWa device manager. The download gets cancelled with the error image not recognized. Is there an alternative on how to copy the map files from my device to the virtual drive? I have already tried using Android File Transfer to copy the Garmin file from the device to the virtual drive but Basecamp doesn't recognise the maps.

Does BaseCamp see the virtual drive? If not note it must be a removeable drive. Also the maps need to be a folder named Garmin

yes basecamp sees the virtual device. I also put the maps in a folder named „Garmin“ within the virtual device.

Then I have no idea why that isn't working. Have you tried switching your Mac off and restarting it?

Sorry for the late answer. Maybe I made something wrong in the whole sequence. I'm gonna reinstall everything and give it another try.
