Importing .gpx files from one computer to another

I've created a multi-day trip using Basecamp on my desktop. I imported the .gpx file into Basecamp on my laptop, but it sows up as an uneditable Route map. Is there a way to import it so that it can be edited on the road if needed?

Are you using the trip planner function in BaseCamp? If so that may be how it works. I never use it, instead I create separate files for each day. They can certainly be created on one computer and edited on others
