I start to get a lot of tracks and routes in my Etrex20. When i connect the device to Basecamp i get a huge amount of pink, purple and black lines on my map. Is it possible to only show the selected route or track on the map?

Yes, move it to a separate list, Basecamp displays whatever is in the selected list.
Hmm, then i need to make a list for every route i create? I consider that a workaround.
Yes, it is a defect in the user interface design. That by default one is swamped with all data.
Problem is creating a throw away list for a route also hides interesting waypoints needed to create the route. So one must move those as well.
”Moving” to a list doesn’t remove the item from the master cluttered glut of data.
No need to create a new list for every new route, unless of course you wish to. Note if you select a track it will be highlighted so you can distinguish it from others in the same list. You can also change its colour if you need it highlighted further.
BaseCamp uses a database, so what you see in lists is simply pointers to the data. BaseCamp is only 'swamped by data' if you don't organise your data logically.
You can also change its colour if you need it highlighted further.
How do i do that? That could solve my problem. I could make the not selected routes look like almost invisible and make the selected route highly visible.
Not sure on the Mac version, in Windows you open Route properties and there is a drop down list top right, you can even choose transparent as a colour
Ok, i found something. This:
which can color a specific route. But that's not what i am looking for. I want my selected route to be red (blue, pink, whatever) and my not selected routes to be transparent.
Is that possible?
Yes, just change the others to transparent.
Ok, you don't get my point, apparently. When you have tens of different routes in a list, i want to see the one i select on the map and the rest not. If i need to make all the routes transparent before i can see only the one i want to see, that's a bit cumbersome. To be able to see a different route on the map i would have to do two operations, make the one i don't want to see anymore transparent and the change the color of the one i do want to see.
I am probably missing the point here, but how hard can it be to ONLY show a selected route on the map? I would expect that behaviour as the most intuitive one. Agree?
And the way to do that is as we started, create a new list. I have one named Temp that I use anytime I want to concentrate on one route, it's not difficult. Mostly though I simply change the colour to one that stands out from the rest, I usually use Red
