eTrex20 on a motorbike. Should i use routes or tracks?

I am using, well i am trying to use, my eTrex20 on my motorbike. As i understand the difference between a track and a route is that a route is displayed in turn-by-turn mode and a track in direction mode. The eTrex20 has a very small screen and i don't want to focus on my GPS, i want to focus on the road while I'm riding.

I use the compass with "Dist to Next" view so i can quickly glance at the compass from my peripheral view where i need to go next.

In this use case, what is the best to use? Tracks or Routes?

Ah, i am using Basecamp Mac if that makes a difference.

Tracks simply give you a line on the map, whereas routes give you directions, so I'd use routes.

Not on an eTrex 20, does it? And even if it does, the letters are too small to read. Again, i want to focus on the road and use the Garmin as a helper. I don't want to Garmin to take too much effort to read.

I know it'll be too small to read but you said you use the compass to help with that. I certainly find routes better on my Etrex20, but then I'm walking
