Is it possible to change multiple waypoint symbols at once by selecting a group? I can do that in the Windows version but cannot figure out how to do it in the Mac version.

In Windows I just select the group, and then change the symbol. All of the symbols for the selected group then change. In the Apple version I can select the group but seem to only be able to change one waypoint at a time instead of being able to change multiple waypoints. Anyone know how I can do this?

In the left column, select a waypoint name in the contents of the chosen list. Shift-click (for consecutive selection) or command-click (for non-consecutive selection) additional waypoint name(s). Of course, select-all would work, too. Dbl-click any of the selected waypoint names. In the multiple waypoints info box, select a new symbol.
