I am frustrated with the various Map apps on my iPhone where I have trouble figuring out and planning the route in advance and transfer the adventure to a Zumo.
Navigation apps want to take me as quickly as possible from A - B sometimes there is the option to avoid highways and occasionally you get to choose between a few alternatives but there is no way to lock down a plan that I want to drive. The small screen makes it very hard to see the small roads and how they connect over a long distance. And If I find them I cannot plot my path the way I want to explore the countryside.
A paper map gives me a birds eye view but its a hassle while driving on a motorbike (scooter in my case ;-)
Before I invest in a Garmin Zumo I would like to know if I can explore and plot my route using my 27" iMac or iPad in advance and then transfer it to the Zumo?
