Motorcycle profile equivalent to Zumo adventurous routing?

Hello,

I want to create a route in Basecamp with a few waypoints and a bunch of shaping points.  If I set my Basecamp motorcycle profile to "Curvy" and avoid appropriate stuff like interstates, I get the route I want.  When I transfer it to my GPS, it seems to recalc based on settings configured on the GPS and I occasionally get different routes.  Also, when re-syncing my Zumo, Basecamp displays a message that a new profile called "Motorcycle - Fastest" was synced from the GPS.  My GPS does not have a "curvy" roads setting, apparently removed in favor of adventurous routing.  How do I get Basecamp to match the adventurous routing settings on my GPS?  Thanks.

Thanks for the quick answer.  I may have found my own answer.  My GPS was in car mode and when I switch to motorcycle mode and then make appropriate navigation settings changes, that particular message goes away.  I've also added some shaping points and keeping the Zumo in motorcycle mode with navigation set to adventurous with sliders to the right to prefer curves, hills, and avoid highways seems to produce consistent results.  I've also kept the "Motorcycle Fastest" profile for some long distance routes or just when I want to get somewhere fast.

  • I find "translation" between Basecamp's profiles and my zumo 660 to be be somewhat unreliable. I have had best luck using the most basic car "fastest" driving mode in BC and using enough shaping points to keep me on the good motorcycle roads I want. It's also essential that the map you use in BC be the same version as the one in your GPS.

This may be off topic, but I was out today and missed an alerting shaping point (perhaps I placed it on another road, or too far off the current road) and lo and behold I was prompted to skip the waypoint that I was prompted to make a u-turn about.  Perhaps this was because the shaping point was set to alert, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen this prompt before.
