I've worked with Macs in my work for many years so are used to the elegant and straightforward way software works on the platform. Not so BaseCamp for Mac I'm afraid. Why on earth when planning a route would it even attempt to predict where I may like to walk? I am precise in my waypoints but then without provocation it will draw a totally unrelated waypoint in the opposite direction! After many hours of wrestling with it, when I finally got BC to PLAY the route and it appeared fine, I innocently pressed the hand icon (which shouldn't have done anything as it was already selected) the whole route suddenly added erroneous waypoints again. After deleting a waypoint it seemed to clear itself so without touching anything further I exported it to the device. This, without exception is the flakiest and most poorly written and unintuitive Mac compatible software I have ever encountered - Garmin should have handed the software writing over to Apple. How on earth this could be released to the general public in its present form is beyond me. Flaky and buggy so cannot be recommended.
