Basecamp does not detect my device (Mac)

I have the new MacBook Pro running Catalina, I have just installed Basecamp 4.8.3 as this is the only one the Crapple Store will let me download, also have Garmin Express installed 6.14.0 as the update keeps failing to download.

Garmin Express sees my device as connected, have changed the privacy setting to allow file and folder to allow Garmin apps but I cannot get Basecamp to identify my device, was working fine before the upgrade to Catalina, (hold the comments "well serves you right for upgrading)

Does anybody have a constructive answer as to why Basecamp is not recognising my device now

One of the changes to 4.8.4 was “Fixed issue with detecting Garmin-mode USB devices” which may work for you. Download 4.8.4 direct from Garmin.

Thanks Stephen16w yes I managed to find the 4.8.4 software which I had assumed would have appeared as an update but strike me down for being too futuristic, I had to go searching for it, not obvious either on Garmins web site, any how the 4.8.4 did resolve the problem

As a senior technical architect for one of the largest mobile phone companies in Europe, I found those videos very patronising, shame this didn't appear as an update and that I had two search for it not very user friendly making people go looking for the updates, try harder

Not sure who that is aimed at but I'm just a user like yourself and not employed by Garmin. Equally I've never had to go searching for updates
