I have a new GPSMAP 64s and am finding it one of the least intuitive and most difficult to use devices. I have searched the forums and couldn't see this issue but please do point me towards earlier threads if I have missed it.
The device came with a TOPO map and when I first connected it to Basecamp 4.8.4 I could see the TOPO map and use it. However as soon as I do anything (eg I have downloaded some .gpsx files with a view to creating routes) then Basecamp seems to become unable to see the TOPO map. I can see in the left hand menu and in the installed maps info that it is on the device but it does not appear in the Maps menu. I can't get it to download again by using transfer files.
I spoke with Garmin customer service and when I deleted some Basecamp cache files it allowed me to download the map, but now the same problem has recurreed. Is this usual? How can I stop this happening?
