How to update to V 4.8.4 from 4.7.0 on my Mac ??

I have a Mac running OS 10.14.5 and Base Camp Version 4.7.0. When I check for updates in base camp, I get "no updates available". How do I update to Base Camp version 4.8.4? Must I uninstall 4.7.0 then down load 4.8.4? It seems to me I should have an update available. Thank you for help.

Yes I am. I meant to also include in my post that it is a intel processor. So it appears to me I should be able to update to 4.8.4 from 4.7.0. All previous upgrades went as expected, but not this one.

OK, so after no suggestions of a solution and not wanting to go thru Garmin communication process, I uninstalled Basecamp v 4.7.0 and also Map Install v 4.2.0. They were not 64 bit.

I then downloaded Basecamp v 4.8.4 from Garmin site, and installed it on my mac mini, late 2012 intel processor running Mojave 10.14.5 with abundant RAM. All went well and I can now use basecamp on my Mac with my Garmin GPS. It will remain a mystery why Garmin said there was no update available when I checked using v 4.7.0.

The update function has been broken for a long time. Plus there have been past conflicts between App Store and Garmin-sourced versions of BC.

Short answer: all you needed to do was download and install the new version.
