Basecamp displaying duplicate data for satnav

I've got a Garmin DriveSmart 50 satnav and looking at my saved places in the left column. There are a lot of duplicate entries (location, location 1). I know that with previous versions of basecamp when you tried to edit the current.gpx file and move back to your device it would duplicate entries (seems to add all the basecamp entries to the existing file on the device) so you'd end up with two of everything. Is this still the case?

Also, why do I seem to have a lot of old files in the left column under "On my computer" where are these stored and how did they get there? I just want to flush everything out and start afresh.

If you're seeing data in BC that you think you've deleted then check the Unlisted data folder. That's where data is placed if it's not in any list. Note when you delete data you can delete it completely or simply delete it from the list you're in. Choose the correct one.

As for your device, to clean it up copy the data to BC, then disconnect your device and delete all its data. Clean up the BaseCamp data then send what you want back to your, now empty, device.
