Map resolution is low on Mac Air basecamp

I have the current version of basecamp and the latest maps. All works in my iMac but when I use basecamp in my Mac Air the resolution is so bad that the map has straight lines in between points.
If I zoom the map in very close all is well and I can see the road numbers and put the route on the correct roads. The main problem I cannot zoom the map out, keeping the good resolution that is needed to make a route across a state.

Is there a way to correct this problem so that my Mac Air functions like my iMac?

Thanks for any help.

  • Are the routing preferences set to Direct instead of Driving? That will give you straight lines between waypoints.

Thanks for the reply. I just checked the routing in preferences and it is set for motorcycle. When I zoom in to 800ft the route is correctly on top of the map. Any zooming out and the route kind of wanders around. I must be missing something.

I need to correct my last post. On my Mac Air the route and map never lays on top of each other. The route wanders around on top of the map. I went through and selected all of the routing options and nothing helped. I have had my Mac Air for several years and it has always had this making problem. I have uninstalled basecamp and reloaded basecamp and the current map files with no change.

Hope someone has a fix for my problem.
