Basecamp routes do not show up on RV 770

I'm using Basecamp 4.6.3 (at least I try) on a Mac to create routes for my RV 770. So far I have created two trips and then transferred them to the RV 770. However, they don't show up on the device in Trip Planner. What I noticed when transferring them (one by one) was that the transfer processes took not even one second each which I think is rather short.

Does anybody here know or have an idea how to fix this?

Should I see these routes anywhere on the mounted Garmin volume (they are not in the GPX folder)?

Thanks.

Umm. I read the tea leaves to indicate that the RV770 with route avoidance RV+ profiles is working about as "normal" as can be expected. It is the user who must adapt to the fact that Basecamp is currently not designed to reject turn point (waypoints) in Avoidance Areas in certain Plus+ RV/Truck/Propane profiles.

The fact your device is crashing again suggests a device issue as that's not normal, I'd be pressing Garmin to replace it.

    I'm on it!

Well, Garmin support claimed in an email that they were able to transfer my route (which I had sent to them) to "the unit." They did not specify whether "the unit" was an RV 770 but I used this claim now to request that my device gets replaced. I still have warranty until September.

Hallelujah! The very latest news is that Garmin updated the device software (for the third time in two weeks) - and after that I was now for one new RV route able to get it without problems and without crash transferred to my device. I'm almost crying. I will have to play with this a little more but I'm quite optimistic and I'm also grateful to Garmin to have done this software update.
  • Great. Progress so hopefully all will now be well. Keep us updated :)

This was a short moment of joy. When I tried to transfer a second route all went back to the faulty way it did (not) work before. The device crashed, the route did not show up in Trip Planner until after I reset the device.
  • Oh, what a disappointment. Back to Garmin then ...

Garmin agreed to replace the device. I'm going (with the current device) on a trip this coming Friday and will initiate the exchange after my return ten days later. I hope that this is really a bug in the device and not some incompatibility between Basecamp and the RV 770. Kudos to Garmin in any case.
