Unable to import route files from Map My Ride

When I download routes (GPX files) from Map My Ride they do wind up in my downloads folder but when I attempt to import them into BaseCamp I get an error message: "Unknown error opening import file" Does anyone know how to resolve this?

Basecamp probably can't deal with the way Map My Ride produces GPX files. Who knows whose fault that is!

Try using the following to convert the file (from GPX to GPX):
