When I transfer waypoints and tracks from Basecamp to my eTrex30 using right-click and Send to Device, Basecamp shows them as being on the device. Then I unmount my eTrex and the data is not on the eTrex.
If I reconnect my eTrex, Basecamp does show the data as being on the eTrex. If I look on /GARMIN/Garmin/GPX/Nav, I see files Track.gpx and Waypoints.gpx with the timestamp of my transfer, so it looks like the data is transferred, but the eTrex just isn't showing it.
I then repeat the right-click/Send-to-device, and I also drag and drop the data from the Basecamp folders to "eTrex 30 (Unit ID xxxxxxxxx)", unmount the eTrex, and the data is there. Sometimes it takes a 3rd try before the data shows up.
I read a 2015 posting which said something about transferring to an SD Card. I'm not entirely clear on what that means. I know I have an SD Card in my eTrex, because I bought a map that came on an SD Card. Maybe the SD Card can also store waypoints and tracks?
What can I do to make my transfers show up on my eTrex on the first try?
