Copying Pts from one track to another

I am putting together a series of tracks for an upcoming adventure and am trying to figure out how I can copy a set of points from one track and add it to another, (specific case is a I have tracks from a previously recorded event where I want/need to make a series of edits to bring it up to date with the latest 2018version). I seem to be able to copy points... I can copy and 'paste' points from the source track into a text program (i.e. I can see the data pasted into the new document), but when I try to paste the segment of points into the desired track... i.e. I load the target track, but when I view the menu, the 'paste' command' in the edit menu is disabled. Any hints, suggestions or tips appreciated.

(I'm using v4.6.3 on a Macintosh)
  • Create the track you want to add by using the split tool, then add it to the track you want to. Note if you want to keep the original create a duplicate first.

Thanks for the reply and the advice... somehow still not working. I copied the track into which I want to insert the points and then I split it at the appropriate point in the track. I then went to the track 'from whiich' I want to copy a series of points. I copied them, but when I return to the original track (the one in which I want to add the points, again, I find the "paste" option is disabled. Clearly I'm not getting it and could use a bit more assistance.
  • Don't try to copy and paste. Select the two tracks then right click them and choose Join selected tracks ...
