Basecamp no longer recognizes my Etrex Touch 25

I've been using my Etrex Touch for almost a year and it mostly works just fine. However, since a couple of days, Basecamp no longer recognizes the device. When I connect the device to my mac using an usb cable, it is properly recognized by my computer (it shows up in Finder). The device is also visible in Garmin Express (I can sync and update). But when I open Basecamp, the device does not show up.

This is an absolute showstopper for me, since I can't create any routes on my computer anymore. Suggestions are therefore most welcome.

Some additional information:

It seems that Basecamp doesn't find any devices at all: I just mounted a virtual image containing maps. This has always been recognized by Basecamp, but not anymore.

I've seen a similar problem in this post: https://forums.garmin.com/forum/mac-windows-software/windows-software/basecamp-aa/81298-. But the solution provided there does not work for me. My device is already set to "mass-storage".

I've connected my Garmin Zumo device to my computer and found the same problem:

The device is visible in Finder and in Garmin Express. But NOT in Basecamp.

Uninstall then reinstall BaseCamp

Thank you for your prompt reply. I did a full uninstall of Basecamp, including removing Basecamp stuff from the ~/Library/... directory. However, that didn't change anything.

The device still does not appear in Basecamp. Like I said, it doesn't appear in Garmin Mapinstall either. But it does appear in Garmin Express.

Since reinstalling BaseCamp have you switched off then restarted your mac?

Yes! Restarting did the trick. The device and it's sd-card are back in Basecamp and in MapInstall.
