Can BaseCamp tell me what's on an SD memory card?

I put an SD card in my Garmin Alpha 100 and downloaded some maps, but I don't see where they went. I put the SD card in my Mac's SD port, but BaseCamp does not seem to provide a way to tell me what's there. Through the Finder, the only file I see is Id.txt, which contains a long alphanumeric key. Is this file important? In general, it's hard to know if the card is being used for anything. If not, I'll put it in my camera.

I do not have a MAC so I am guessing here. Can you check the properties of the SD card? That should tell you if the card is empty or not. Map files are always IMG files. Explore the internal drive of your Garmin Alpha 100. Maybe the maps went there instead of the SD card.
  • If the maps are there but not showing on BaseCamp you can set them to be visible in BaseCamp using JaVaWa's Device manager program, it will also tell you if the maps are there or not

The only issue may be whether it works with your device or OS, as some Mac software wasn't initially supported, I'm unclear whether this is now fixed .
